    Thanks.

I’ve won a couple battles and it displays my rewards but I don’t actually get the parts in build mode or the currency. Still pretty awesome!

So, when I do a battle, I can have anywhere from 4-6 ships in that battle. While the opponents have anywhere from 4-20 ships. Is there a way to increase the amount of ships I could bring to a battle? Or is that scheduled for a later update?

      Erm, I figured it out.

Good question. So the amount of ships you get is determined by the total parts allowed per team. So if the max parts allowed is 300 and your only ever make ships that are made with 3 parts, you’ll have 100 ships, but if you make ships using 30 parts you’ll have a fleet of 10 ships. More parts per ship also means it takes more hits to take them down. I can’t say if having more parts per ship vs more ships with fewer parts is better or worse. Experiment and see what works best for you! :)

Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks for playing and all the feedback!

Does it count each side of the ship as another piece? As in, when I add a piece in the Cockpit section it should count as 1 piece. If I add a piece in the Wing section, does it count as if I’m adding two pieces to the ship, or just 1?

Wing parts, though they come in pairs, only count as one part in battle. That is, a ship with one Cockpit and two sets of Wings (looks like 4 parts) counts as a 3-part ship rather than a 5-part ship.

After reconfiguring some ships and making some new ones, I noticed that the number of weapons fired during a volley in battle depends partially on whether that particular ship has been voted on. Ships that have never been voted on only fire one weapon per volley, but ships that have been voted on at least once fire at least two weapons per volley (a ship with only one cannon will fire the same weapon twice). What’s the special condition for a ship to fire three weapons in a volley, a minimum star rating, a certain number of votes, or some other factor altogether?
Also, will there be a way to configure a firing order different from the one that the ship happens to use when built? Sometimes one wants certain weapons to fire together (or multiple times), but the configuration order (?) and/or presence of other weapons prevents that. Maybe a list in which you insert at least one instance of every cannon would work – adding multiple instances would make a cannon fire multiple times, and the game would go down the list to determine what cannons to fire in a volley (it would return to the top of the list once it reaches the bottom to repeat the cycle).

Now I found a ship that does 4-cannon volleys. How does one get a ship to do that, high rating and high vote count? If the cannons fired per volley can change with star rating (as it seems to do now), it would be helpful to have an indicator somewhere of what that number is.

You are very perceptive! I have not formally surfaced that information anywhere but you have the gist of it. The higher the star rating the better ships perform. The star rating acts as a boost to weapons (number of bursts), engines (speed), and turning for your ships. I’m still balancing stuff so that may all change, and I will also likely explicitly show you the star rating bonuses in some UI sometime in the future. For now it’s all under the hood :)

Good suggestions about weapon systems and configuring the order. One idea was to have that feature be a computer upgrade or something.

      • QuestComm says:

On a related note, currently star rating bonuses still apply when a ship has its voting disabled. Theoretically, one could game the system with two accounts wherein when one account creates a ship, the other Likes it, and the first disables voting in order to guarantee a ship with a 3-burst, regardless of actual build quality (still doable with one account, though it depends on the whims of the voters). Is this sort of behavior intended? I admit I’ve been using the single-account version for my filler ships (2-6 parts large).

Just out of curiosity, would there be a way to delete ships later? Or would we have to go and modify the ship instead. I’ve made a bit too many ships, and whenever I use that color, they have a chance of appearing and ruining my ship counters. And the scroll bar is pretty big.

Good feedback. Yeah I find that I’ve run into that issue myself. Maybe I’ll allow you to archive or temporarily mark ships as “hidden” or “favorite” or “exclude from battle” etc.
